Creating spaces for minority girls to flourish
Mentoring minority girls
Dollhouse Girls Club is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization created to support underrepresented minority girls with unlocking potential, discovering possibilities, practicing self love and creating a sisterhood. We serve girls age 11-18 in the areas of Enrichment and Empowerment which we believe will ultimately lead to their professional and personal advancement.
Dollhouse will be a leading resource for minority girls in the South Suburban \ Chicagoland area. Dollhouse will create a safe space for minority girls to flourish by providing them with opportunities to gain exposure to new environments and impactful experiences.
We strive to create a support system that both celebrates and challenges our mentees.
Dollhouse believes in the power of mentoring. We understand the importance of having relatable mentors to help girls grow. When a girl has a clear understanding of who she is and what she wants for her future, along with the support to get there, she is less likely to partake in risky behaviors. We believe in helping girls find their voice and want them to know they matter. Dollhouse strives to surround our girls with love and support through positive reinforcements, creating a shift in the percentage of minority girls affected by the alarming violence & drop out statistics.
Our programs will provide the following :
You can feel a persons energy
when they're in a room, that's
Ms.T. We called her Ma and really
meant that, because that's
what she felt like and I love her
for it. In high school, out of all
teachers, counselors, or adult in
general, she was the person I
would talk to when I needed to
and it was so easy to do that no
matter what we talked about. I
know I can't speak for others
saying this but I looked forward
to spending time with Ms.T and Dollhouse
because it was a safe space.
You were able to be
yourself and it was full of nothing
but positive vibes. I know to this
day I can go to her whenever,
and I appreciate the women she is and all the programs she involved me in.
I don't even know where to
begin! Ms T or should I say
Momma T was the best
relationship I had in high school.
She introduced me to Dollhouse and
made me feel so welcome.
I could talk to her about
anything! School or non school
related. We really felt like family because
she was always there for me about
anything . Even after I graduated
she checked up on me, even till
this day. If you get a chance to
meet her or experience Dollhouse
it will be life changing. This is a
relationship every young
girl needs in their life. I love
her so much.
Ms. T (Ma) and I first met my Sophomore year of high school. From the start I was drawn to her sense of fashion. As time went on we would eat lunch together and I eventually had her as a teacher where we got to know each other more. We became super close and Ms. T help me to start the fashion club at Thornridge High School. She helped me organize and put on a Fashion show for 3 years. Ms. T helped me become more confident in being a leader and always reminding me to be myself. Occasionally we would even hang out outside of school. My Senior year she hosted a Dollhouse sleepover for the girls that she mentored. We created vision boards and talked about our goals for the year. Although I graduated in 2015, Ms. T has still been such an amazing mentor and friend. I’m so grateful for her in my life!
Since I was introduced to the
Dollhouse, it has played a huge
role in my life only for the better.
This foundation has helped me
throughout my highschool and
college years. Aneisha is the best
mentor, coach, anyone can ask
for. She's an all for one! I love
how she wants to see her doll
house girls succeed and thrive
throughout life. She's willing to
do anything to help out her
ladies. I've known Aneisha for
7 plus years and the relationship
we've gained is one of a kind!
She's a mom, sister, lifestyle
coach. Educator, workout
partner, etc!
If there are any young ladies that
need guidance, love, support
etc. joining the Dollhouse Girls
Club is the best option for you. I
met Aneisha Julia, or so I call her
"ma" in 2018. I had just
transferred over from East
Chicago Central High school to
Thornridge High school, I joined
the fashion club in which she
was in charge of and since then
we've never separated. We've
had many talks, she has exposed
me to great opportunities, always
been very attentive, gave me
genuine TLC and always treated
me as one of her own daughters
(I am even attending the same
University she attended. CAU!!)
I say this to say, the Dollhouse
girls are more than blessed to
have the woman they do leading
and guiding them with positivity,
honesty and compassion into
womanhood.
